This exquisite vintage kilim hails from Mut, Mersin, a region celebrated for its rich weaving traditions. Crafted using the intricate Cicim technique, this rug is a true testament to the skill and artistry of Turkish weavers. The Cicim technique involves incorporating a third thread into the weaving process, creating raised, embroidery-like patterns on the surface. This unique method gives the rug a dual-sided appearance, with distinct front and back designs. The base threads are typically of the same thickness and color, while the decorative threads vary in hue and texture. These rugs are traditionally made from sheep wool, with occasional use of goat hair for added durability and texture. Dating back approximately 50-60 years, this vintage kilim is in excellent condition and ready to enhance any living space. Whether used as a floor covering or displayed as a wall decor piece, this rug brings warmth, culture, and history to your home. Size and Material: Handwoven using 100% natural materials. 85x122cm - 2.79x4.00 ft Photos are taken outside. If you want to see more details please let me know!
